2 months in Mexico for $300
Travel September 17th, 2007When compared to the cost of staying here in Chicago, our 2-month trip to Mexico this fall will only cost us $300. Here’s how we did it:
- We found an awesome deal on flights
- We used Home Exchange and VRBO to get incredible deals on some beautiful rentals. No tourist-packed resorts for us.
- With the help of our assistant, we found somebody (via Craigslist) that is going to sublet our place while we’re gone.
wow.

Do you mean that the entire trip is costing you $300 or its costing you $300 more than living in Chicago for two months costs? Huge difference.

Laura-
I mean compared to not taking the trip and just staying here in Chicago. And yes, of course that’s a huge difference. I always try to look at things in terms of opportunity cost.

That’s great. You’re really putting the 4HWW into practice. This is a great blog.
